The U.S. Congress passed three laws that require Missouri to monitor sex offenders; the Wetterling Registration Act, the Lychner Tracking and Identification Act and Megan’s Law.

On March 5, 2003, The Supreme Court ruled that information about Missouri Offenders may be posted on the Internet.
